Athena Forensics were instructed by the local authority who had initiated child care proceedings. An investigation had been initially started by the Police but whilst those proceedings had been dropped by the Prosecution, the family proceedings continued.
A computer forensic expert from Athena Forensics conducted a review of all Police evidence and all of the digital evidence considered within the criminal proceedings.
The investigation concerned the presence of unlawful images on a computer along with Internet searches to suggest that the user had attempted to identify such material.
The examination findings were discussed within conference with the legal representatives for each of the parties and then the expert witness provided testimony within the family care final fact hearing proceedings.

A mobile phone forensic expert from Athena Forensics conducted a review of the mobile phones belonging to the parents involved for all communication between each other and to produce that communication, including WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger messages in a readable format for each of the legal representatives involved in the case to review.

A mobile phone forensic expert from Athena Forensics conducted a review of the mobile phones belonging to the parents and grandparents to identify any communication involving reference to a specific incident.
Images were identified of relevance and the time/date that they had been taken and discussion relating to them and the incident were identified within the live and deleted areas of the phones’ memory.
The report findings were provided and all communication produced in a readable format for each of the legal representatives involved in the case to review.
